What matters in this industry
- 01
Shelf load must reach the body
A single row of 1.5-litre bottles will sag a cardboard shelf on its own. The load is spread into the vertical panels by brackets fitted under the shelf; otherwise the middle collapses.
- 02
Forward feed is essential
Nobody pulls heavy bottles forward by hand: the shopper takes the front one and the rest stay put. A gravity base or a spring pusher brings product forward on its own and keeps the display full.
- 03
Moisture and chiller proximity
Condensation forms in front of chillers and cardboard wicks water up from a wet floor. A cardboard body is short-lived here; a plastic body or feet that lift it off the floor are needed.

About this industry
What makes a good cola display?
A load-bearing body and a shelf that feeds forward. Can and bottle weight pushes the shelf down, so it is supported with brackets underneath; forward feed comes from a gravity base or a spring pusher. In front of a chiller, a plastic body is preferred.
What matters in an energy drink display?
The cans are tall and slim, so lanes are kept narrow and dividers hold the rows aligned. Unit value is high, which favours checkout and aisle-end positions.
